Practical use of IEC 61511

Course objective
TEXT ER IKKE OPDATERET – To provide the participants with a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the different lifecycle elements as described in IEC 61511 and practical use of the standard.

Course description
IEC 61511 is an international standard addressing the application of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) for the process industry. IEC 61511 is intended for System Designers, System Integrators and end users.

At this course, the participants will gain solid basic knowledge and understanding of the Functional Safety Lifecycle approach, Functional Safety Management, Risk Assessment, SIL levels and SIS.

The course focuses on a practical approach thus including several examples of how to apply the standard.

Who should attend?
Electro Engineers, Instrument Engineers, Process Engineers, Safety Engineers and Operation and/or Maintenance personnel, who are involved with different phases of the Functional Safety Lifecycle, from Hazard and Risk Assessment to the Operation and Maintenance phase.
